Fun in Utah

We based our "big" summer trip around our 5th anniversary this year. We figured it was a good one to do a little extra to celebrate and so we planned some fun things in advance. Johnny was super excited about everything and Lydia was a super good baby. We all had a blast!
1st we went to a Dinosaur park in Ogden. It had fossils and life-size dinosaurs. Johnny got super scared by the ones that moved, but luckily there were only a couple of those. My cousin and her little family met us there, so cute Brianna is in some of the pics with Johnny.

Then we went to Salt Lake. We visited Temple Square and swam at the hotel. We also rode the cable train to the Gateway Mall, which Johnny kept saying: "Mom, I'm so lucky to ride the train!" He was VERY excited about that, but my picture of it didn't turn out so well, so it's not on here...

(LOVE this picture!)

The next morning we went to Hogle Zoo. Johnny thought this "digger" from some construction going on was just as cool as any of the animals.

(And of course riding this little train was like a dream come true) Ü
Then the best part: We took the kids to stay at my sister's house over night and then we dressed up and went on our anniversary date. We ate at The Garden at the top of the Joseph Smith Memorial building. Never been up there before and it was very fun with an amazing view. Then we walked to the Capitol Theatre to enjoy the production Les Miserables. We'd never seen anything like that before and it was very memorable. It was mostly fun to spend so many hours just chatting, laughing, and holding hands as we went from place to place. We loved the last 5 years together and are so grateful that we are such good friends and have been blessed with our beautiful children!

  1. Isn't it amazing how a dump truck catches their attention? I can't believe how big your baby is! She's a cutie. You are definitely brave to have a dog. I hope she's good and doesn't destroy too much (the dog, not Lydia.) :)
